Low-light houseplants: the basics
Low light still means some daylight. These plants manage a few metres from a window or in a north-facing room, but they grow more slowly there and need less water, because soil in a dim room dries out slowly.
If a plant in low light gets leggy, leans hard toward the window or loses its variegation, move it closer to the light. No houseplant lives in a windowless room without a grow light.
